CHOA Christmas Parade

CHOA Christmas Parade

Please come out and watch the FOC lead the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Christmas parade through downtown Cumming!

The band is accepting candy donations to toss to the kids watching the parade. Please send your donations to school with your band student.

We will meet in the band room for you to get your instruments and uniforms at 3:30 pm. Come wearing your bibbers, dinkles, and black socks. Feel free to accessorize with Holiday wear as appropriate.

From 3:30 to 4;00, we will get dressed and get our instruments.  At 4:00, we’ll rehearse probably near the Art Room or on the Practice Field.

After the parade we will load the instruments and jackets on Moby (our equipment trailer). You will NOT have access to your instruments until Monday if you load your instruments.  Take your instrument with you if you need it before Monday.  Please note the band room will be locked after the parade and you will not have access. Do not leave anything in the Band room that you need!

Students will be dismissed from the Fairgrounds when we are done with the Parade.

I’d suggest parking in the Cumming Fairgrounds Main Parking Lot across from the Pavilion.  That’s where the parade ends.

For my students that are auditioning for All-State, if you have a later afternoon time slot but you want to be in the Parade, just go earlier.

If you cannot attend the Christmas Parade, you DO NOT need to email Mr. Tucker. I totally get it.

  • No jeans or loose-fitting clothing

  • Hair pulled back and out of the face

  • No jewelry or watches

  • Bring water and a snack

All equipment will be loaned out on the first audition day and should be taken home for practice. If your student makes the team, this will become their practice equipment for the season.

 What We’re Looking For

  • Positive Work Ethic

Students will learn choreography and skills on Monday and perform for the judging panel on Tuesday, including a short interview. This process allows each student to practice and show how well they retain and perform material.

 Fees & Fundraising

Season dues are estimated at $850–$950 (based on total membership), with a $200 fundraising minimum.
