Monthly General Meeting 

May 12, 2025

Location:  FCHS Cafeteria, 131  Almon C. Hill Drive, Cumming, GA 30040

Motion to open meeting by Beth Becker, seconded by Melissa Tirico

Welcome by Jennifer Nichols

Introduction of new Board Members & Committee Chairs

  • Open Committee Chair Positions:

    • Band Banquet/Awards

    • Photographer/Yearbook

    • Pre-Game Meals/3rd Quarter Meals


Finances

  • Total expenses 24-25 season $228,148.18

    • 71.16% FOC, Concert Band, Boosters

    • 14.8% Indoor Drumline

    • 6.91% Winterguard

    • 7.13% Fundraising

  • From revenue total 67% of income brought in was from dues/gear sold


Fundraising & Sponsorships

  • Ameris

    • Elaine Serecky gave details on sign ups, volunteer requirements, encouraged participation to off-set band dues

    • Each concert worked nets $90: $40 to general FOC fund/$50 to individual student band dues

    • Sign Up Genius for Ameris Concerts are in CutTime under Announcements (Melissa mentioned she could also post to Booster website)

  • Business Sponsors

    • Sponsor forms available at meeting, on booster website & included in Band Paperwork via QR code

    • Different sponsor levels available

    • 50% of sponsorship brought in goes towards individual student band dues


Band Camp

  • Scott Mulcay provided brief overview of upcoming Band Camp

    • Volunteer needs: set-up, prep, serve, clean-up

    • Food donations per grade level

    • Camper necessities

  • Band Camp Dates are in Cut Time Calendar

    • July 9th-11th Drumline/Color Guard

    • July 14th-18th Full Band Camp 9am-5pm

    • July 21st-23rd Full Band Camp 9am-6pm

    • July 29th & 31st Evening Band Camp 5pm-8pm


Directors

  • Band class placement notifications will be sent this week

    • Final band class placement may be affected by other class schedule conflicts (AP, Stem etc) out of Director’s control

  • Band Paperwork & 1st payment is due!

    • Turn in Marcher or Non-Marcher contract ASAP

  • Communication:

    • CutTime- Parents should be familiar w/this account and check frequently. If they have turned in paperwork & have not received an invite text- see Tucker after meeting

    • BAND app- Link to download/invite to the group will be sent. Messages are copied here, Cut Time/email.  Kids should have Band app (more likely to check this)

  • Band Camp: EVERYTHING you need to know email will be sent.

  • Fundraising

    • Year-round- some apply to general fund (benefits everyone), some to individual accounts

  • Mary Smith explained the difference between a sponsorship & donation

  • Mandatory volunteer expectation per family or pay opt-out fee explained

  • Flash of Crimson & Booster website were shown

  • Poker Tournament Fundraiser registration info
