Update 10/19/25

Greetings,

First, let me say a big Thank You to all of the parents that helped make our Competition Performance at the Branch Classic a success!  We couldn’t do it without you!

Here’s my thoughts on the Branch Classic competition:

  1. That was our best performance of the season so far.  By a lot!  It had a lot of energy and the band was playing their tails off!

  2. We were the 2nd place Band out of 17 bands.  There were a lot of Bands that would have loved to be in that spot.

  3. If you look at Band Competitions as a “Grand Champions or Bust” situation, you have to be “Undeniably” better than the other Bands.

Overall, I’m proud of how the Band performed Saturday night.  We have two weeks left of the season to get better.

As for the judging number breakdown, we were 1st place in Music General Effect, 1st place in Visual General Effect, 2nd in Visual Performance, 5th in Music Performance from one judge and 6 in Music Performance from another judge.  Our total Band Score was a 93.78, and we were 1.37 points away from placing 1st at the Competition.

I don’t agree with us being in 5th/6th in Music Performance, but that was their opinion.  I have watched on Youtube some of the bands that they placed above us, and I just can’t understand that one.

Either way, we weren’t “Undeniable” in Music or Visual.  But, we DID Rock the crowd, and no scores can take that away from us.

Congrats to the Drumline for scoring the Highest Percussion Score of the day with a 96!

Next week at South, the Competition will get even tougher, so let’s do work this week!

Senior Night Timeline:  Friday, October 31st

6:45pm - Seniors/families begin lining up on the track - 2 important details below:

1. Senior parents/escorts do NOT get into the football game for free. They will need to purchase a ticket in order to get into the game and come down on the sidelines to escort their Senior. Please make sure all tickets are purchased PRIOR (GoFan) to the game!

2. Have a parent volunteer ensure everyone is lined up in the correct order.

6:50pm - First name is called (starting with football, cheer, then band)

  • Football has opted to not have a balloon arch. We will have it in place once football is done so cheer and band can use it. All programs will have the FC backdrop that’s in the media center to use for photos.

  • We have 80 kids to get through, so please help make sure the flow is kept up so we can get through in plenty of time before kickoff!

7:15pm - Leave field, Senior announcements end

7:30pm - Kickoff

Saturday, November 1st
